How to install Flash player on Mandriva
Follow @ggarronThis is a step by step guide to install Adobe Flash player 9 on your Mandriva Spring 2007.
First thing you should do is to download the .tar.gz file of the latest version of Flash player. Get it from here:
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash
Download it at your home directory
next change to root
su -
enter the password for root
cd /home/[your_user]
tar xvzf install_flash_player_9_linux.tar.gz
(or any other name the downloaded file could have)
cd install_flash_player_9_linux
./flashplayer-installer
You will see something like this:
Copyright(C) 2002-2006 Adobe Macromedia Software LLC. All rights reserved.
Adobe Flash Player 9 for Linux
Adobe Flash Player 9 will be installed on this machine.
You are running the Adobe Flash Player installer as the "root" user. Adobe Flash Player 9 will be installed system-wide.
Support is available at http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/
To install Adobe Flash Player 9 now, press ENTER.
To cancel the installation at any time, press Control-C.
NOTE: Please exit any browsers you may have running.
Press ENTER to continue...
Please enter the installation path of the Mozilla, SeaMonkey, or Firefox browser (i.e., /usr/lib/mozilla): /usr/lib/mozilla dir= /usr/lib/mozilla
WARNING: Please enter a valid installation path.
If after entering /usr/lib/mozilla you get the above Warning, you should enter this other path.
Please enter the installation path of the Mozilla, SeaMonkey, or Firefox browser (i.e., /usr/lib/mozilla): /usr/lib/firefox-2.0.0.3 <---- dir= /usr/lib/firefox-2.0.0.3
In my case is /usr/lib/firefox-2.0.0.3 in your case could be another version, be sure the directory exists.

Adobe Flash Player 9 will be installed in the following directory:
Browser installation directory = /usr/lib/firefox-2.0.0.3
Proceed with the installation? (y/n/q): y <----
Installation complete.
That is all, you have now flash installed, (restart your firefox)
