Skype 1.4 Beta for Linux released
Follow @ggarronThis June 14th the version 1.4 beta of Skype for Linux has been released, it has a nice fresh new look.
There are specific packages for:
- Skype for Ubuntu Feisty Fawn
- Skype for Debian Etch
- Skype for Mepis
- Skype for Xandros
- Skype for Fedora Core 6
- Skype for Fedora 7
- Skype for OpenSuse 10+
- Skype for Mandriva
and you can also find the dynamic static package,.
The requirement to install skype in your Linux are:
Hardware requirements
* 400 Mhz processor or faster.
* 256 MB RAM.
* 20 MB free disk space on your hard drive.
* Microphone and speakers or headset.
* Internet connection (broadband is best, GPRS is not supported for voice calls, and results may vary on a satellite connection).
Software requirements
* Qt 4.2.1+
* D-Bus 1.0.0
* libsigc++ 2.0.2
* libasound2 1.0.12
The first change you will notice is the new interface, now each call will open its new window, and the menu is located at the button.
